In 1727, Isaac Newton made the bold statement : "And I have told you oftener than once that the Longitude is not be found by clock-work alone ... Nothing but Astronomy is sufficient for this purpose." A clockmaker named John Harrison did not agree, believing that he could invent the first accurate marine chronometer. Competing for the Longitude Prize (worth more the €3.5 million in today's money), would an astronomer or a clockmaker cross the finishing line first?

Rocket Building workshop with Eric Stenzel of the Irish Rocketry Society. This workshop is aimed at Parents and children (age 9 - 16) who will work in pairs to build their very own rocket, which will be launched at the local community pitch at 2pm
