

Emer Mayock
Emer Mayock is a traditional musician and composer from County Mayo with a lifelong dedication to traditional music. A multi-instrumentalist, she plays the flute, uilleann pipes whistle, fiddle and piano. Her discography includes two acclaimed albums, Merry Bits of Timber and Playground, the latter highlighting her passion for composition and musical innovation.
Emer has collaborated with many esteemed traditional musicians and has toured extensively. A significant project is her collaboration with uilleann piper Mick O’Brien and fiddle player Aoife Ní Bhriain, exploring the 19th-century Goodman Manuscripts, earning them the prestigious TG4 Gradam Ceoil Award.
In recent years, Emer has also worked with musician and singer Rhiannon Giddens, collaborating on the acclaimed Grammy Award-winning They’re Calling Me Home and appearing as a guest musician on My Music with Rhiannon Giddens for PBS release in 2025.
In addition to her performance and recording career, Emer is the founder of the Music of Mayo cultural initiative which documents, promotes, and celebrates the county’s rich musical heritage.
A highly sought-after teacher, Emer provides expert tuition both in Ireland and internationally, offering instruction on the flute, whistle, fiddle, and uilleann pipes.
