About the Event...
Our annual festival was established in 2016 to celebrate Ireland's first Dark Sky Park. Â It is held in the towns and villages surrounding Mayo Dark Sky Park - Newport, Mulranny and Ballycroy.
The 3 day event includes formal talks on themes of astronomy, biodiversity and culture, as well as a planetarium, seashore safari, art exhibitions and musical performances

Friday Opening Ballycroy
This ticket will give you entry to the festival opening event, which takes place at 7pm on Friday 1 November 2024 in Ballycroy Visitor Centre. This event will include the official festival opening, a short performance by special musical guests, finger food and, weather permitting, some stargazing outdoors.

Two Day Ticket Sat & Sun
This ticket will give you entry to all formal talks in Newport and Mulranny on Sat 2 Nov and Sun 3 Nov 2024. As a bonus, your ticket(s) will also give you FREE ENTRY to the Festival Finale event in St. Patrick’s Church Newport on Sunday evening, which is free for all festival ticket holders. Please note it will NOT gain you entry to the Festival Opening in Ballycroy on Fri 1 Nov, or the Gala Dinner in Mulranny Park Hotel on Sat 2 Nov - these events must be booked separately.

1 Day Ticket SATURDAY
This ticket will give you entry to all formal talks in Newport and Mulranny on Saturday 2 November 2024. As a bonus, your ticket(s) will also give you FREE ENTRY to the Festival Finale event in St. Patrick’s Church Newport on Sunday evening, which is free for all festival ticket holders. Please note it will NOT gain you entry to the Gala Dinner in Mulranny Park Hotel – this must be booked separately.

Gala Dinner Saturday
This ticket will give you entry to the Gala Dinner taking place in the GN Mulranny Park Hotel on Saturday 2 November 2024. There will be a drinks reception at 7:30pm in the hotel, followed by a three course dinner and entertainment starting at 8pm. As a bonus, your ticket(s) will also give you FREE ENTRY to the Festival Finale event in St. Patrick’s Church Newport on Sunday evening, which is free for all festival ticket holders.

SEASHORE SAFARI
The Seashore Safari takes place Sun 3 Nov 2024 at 11am on Mulranny Beach. There is no entry fee, but there is a small registration fee of €2 pp as numbers are strictly limited for safety reasons. PLEASE NOTE THIS EVENT IS NOT WHEELCHAIR FRIENDLY, and also NOT ADVISED FOR ANYONE WITH MOBILITY ISSUES

Sunday Finale Concert
This ticket is for the Festival Closing Event. It will give you entry to the performance by special musical guests, the renowned AVOCA QUARTET, and takes place at 7pm on Sunday 3 November 2024 in St. Patrick’s Church Newport. PLEASE NOTE – Festival ticket holders (ie those with a SATURDAY or SUNDAY pass) DO NOT NEED to purchase a ticket for this event, as admission to the concert for festival ticket holders is FREE. CHILDREN are also FREE – no booking necessary!
