About the Event...
Our annual festival was established in 2016 to celebrate Ireland's first Dark Sky Park. It is held in the towns and villages surrounding Mayo Dark Sky Park - Newport, Mulranny and Ballycroy.
The 3 day event includes formal talks on themes of astronomy, biodiversity and culture, as well as a planetarium, seashore safari, art exhibitions and musical performances

This ticket gives you entry to the festival opening event, starting at 7pm on Fri 31 Oct 2025 in Ballycroy Visitor Centre. The evening includes the official festival opening, a performance by special musical guests, finger food and, weather permitting, some stargazing and a guided dark sky walk. This ticket is for the Festival Closing Event. It will give you entry to the performance by special musical guests, the award winning KILA, and takes place at 7pm on Sunday 2 November 2025 in St. Patrick’s Church Newport. PLEASE NOTE – Festival ticket holders (ie those with a 1-day or 2-day or Early Bird ticket) DO NOT NEED to purchase a ticket for this event, as admission to the concert for festival ticket holders is FREE. CHILDREN under 16 are also FREE – no booking necessary!

The Seashore Safari takes place Sun 2 Nov 2025 at 10am on Mulranny Beach. There is no entry fee, but there is a small registration fee of €2 pp as numbers are strictly limited for safety reasons. PLEASE NOTE THIS EVENT IS NOT WHEELCHAIR FRIENDLY, and also NOT ADVISED FOR ANYONE WITH MOBILITY ISSUES
