Hospitality Award for Visitor Centre

Congratulations to all the staff at Ballycroy Visitor Centre, and of course to JP and Nicola of Ginger and Wild Café, who together won the prestigious Georgina Campbell award for hospitality this week.

Ballycroy Visitor Centre and Ginger & Wild Café in County Mayo won the Visitor Attraction Award at the 2025 Georgina Campbell Irish Food & Hospitality Awards. The awards, established by food writer Georgina Campbell, recognize businesses across Ireland based on independent, year-long assessments by experts.

About the Award:

  • The annual Georgina Campbell Irish Food & Hospitality Awards were established to recognize excellence and guide visitors to genuinely hospitable experiences.

  • Unlike some commercial awards, these awards are based on anonymous, year-round assessments by a team of experts who pose as regular guests.

The Winners:

  • The Ballycroy Visitor Centre and its Ginger & Wild café were awarded the Visitor Attraction award for 2025.

  • The Visitor Centre is located in the Wild Nephin National Park and offers a fascinating stop for visitors and a welcoming spot for a break at the café.

So now, when you come to the Mayo Dark Sky Festival, you will get a chance to visit the AWARD WINNING Visitor Centre!
